The following lesson plans provide examples of potential uses of ICT in the teaching of Classical subjects. In most cases they are taken from actual lessons and so reflect the variety of approaches used in different countries, based upon the individual pedagogy of each national system. They are not presented as ready-made lessons for busy teachers to imitate but as examples of the possibilities which ICT offers, so that teachers in every country may be inspired to reflect upon their own practice and see new opportunities.
Given the very different approaches across Europe that these lesson plans reflect, we hope that teachers will study these lesson plans and discover that in the richness of the approaches demonstrated here we can both celebrate our diversity and develop our own teaching to the benefit of all our students.
All of the lesson plans have been written within an agreed framework, so the headings on each are common to all. This decision was taken to ensure that some continuity could be achieved and also to make details easy to identify. Each lesson plan is made accessible through in a system, designed to make them easy to find and allowing access to them as a complete collection or one by one, according to specific search criteria.
The authors of most of these lesson plans have included an email address here, so if you would like further information about the lessons described, you are encouraged to contact the writers directly with your request.
We hope to encourage Classics teachers to contribute more materials to the CIRCE Project in this dynamic section of the website.
