Roy Hession

I am a teacher from the West of Ireland, working in Colaiste Cholmain, Claremorris, Co. Mayo. I am currently a member of the CAI Teachers and in the past year we have initiated ˝The Academy˝ which aims to spread the teaching and learning of Latin and Greek throughout the country, where they have been in decline for some years now. Hopefully our endeavours will be fruitful.... Otherwise I teach Mathematics, History and European Studies in the Mayo school. I completed an M.A. degree in Classics at the National University of Ireland, Galway many years ago where Euripidean Drama was my main interest. The CIRCE course, being held for the fourth time, in Ljubljana, Slovenia is a wonderful collaboration between teachers from no less than nine different European countries. The Classics are very much alive and well throughout Europe!
